The Dependency Map of IT

You could know the entire IT stack and have no familiarity with AI because it is fundamentally a different branch of Computer Science. Reading upward: every layer is built on the ones beneath it, regardless of when it was invented. Foundations sit at the bottom; applications sit at the top. Click any box to trace its full lineage upward to the applications that rely on it, or down to the foundations it rests on. Switch to Compare and pick two architectures to see where their substrate overlaps.

How IT systems behave

Most IT systems are largely deterministic, with a little nonlinear flexibility from programming languages and randomness from hardware sources. It is much easier to understand in context while recently studying Boolean algebra, discrete math, and electrical engineering.
